I HAD NO CHOICE ABOUT A FUTURE IN FLOORING.
I WAS BORN INTO IT.
Kirsten grew up climbing on carpet rolls and hiding behind display racks at her parents’ flooring store in Washington. During the summers and winter breaks, she worked at their store, doing everything from answering the phones to sales. After graduating from the University of Washington, Kirsten pursued a career in fine art, which lead her to a job in interior design where she worked specifying materials for ultra-modern condo and multi-family projects. When the economy collapsed, Kirsten went back to work for a flooring design store, and eventually took a job calling on architects and designers as a commercial sales representative for a Seattle based tile company.Through the culmination of her life and work in the industry, Mod Floors was born and opened in 2019.
WHY MOD FLOORS?
“I came to realize that I was providing my clients, in every job I had, the care and attention that I would give them if I were the owner of my own flooring business. It took me a long time to admit that opening my own store was what I wanted to do.With the validation of my family who ran a successful flooring company for almost 40 years, I decided to do something different than any other store I had worked for previously. I’m taking all the best parts of the companies I’ve worked for and combining them to create what sets Mod Floors apart from every traditional flooring experience.”
